So in the prenup, you should definitely see something about maintenance and alimony, which are the same thing, but you cannot talk about child support.

You can only talk about the division of property, maintenance, and mahr.

Those are really the three things that you can talk about in a prenuptial agreement.

So again, what I said before is that you need to negotiate just like you negotiate your mahr.

We're calling it maintenance but in reality, it's really like mahr.

You have the upfront payment of mahr, and then you have the backend payment of mahr.

So what we're really talking about is being creative with your mahr and using that as quote unquote maintenance or alimony, so that again, you can have an asset, you have something that you can get back on your feet with inshaAllah.
