What rights should a woman make sure are being protected in the prenup document?
So, there's three major parts of a prenuptial agreement.
One is the definition of marital property.
What do you and your husband, are you and your wife, what do you want to belong to both of you or to each of you?
If the wife is thinking that, you know what, I'm not gonna work. I'm gonna raise the children. I'm gonna be a homemaker.
Then maybe you negotiate something different than a wife who is going to work and is not going to stay at home or has different outlook on what her marriage is going to be like.
So, I think it depends on each person's circumstances as to how you deal with marital property, number one.
Number two is going to be if the wife is thinking that they're gonna stay at home they're not gonna work, they're gonna raise the family.
Then maybe it doesn't make sense to entirely waive maintenance.
Whereas if you are going to be making money, then maybe you do wanna waive maintenance.
So again, it really depends on your circumstance.
And last but not least, is the mahr.
No matter what, you have to protect your mahr.
And the only way to do that, it's going to be through a prenup agreement.
