When to start talking about islamic prenuptial agreements in the courting process?

Prenuptial agreements are a taboo, right?

And we're still immature in our community when it comes to talking about marriage in this fashion

what we are seeing is that people are shying away from it. They believe that this is something that's not Islamic. This is something that's unnecessary.

I think that first and foremost, these types of classes, these types of events, inshallah, will make prenups more common. And I've actually seen that in my own practice.

Really I think that it should be brought up pretty early on, I think once you're serious, once that you start talking about mahr, is really when you should start talking about a prenuptial agreement.

Once you're ready to marry somebody, you really should go through some type of premarital counseling, you should really take some type of education.

So, maybe what you can do is take the Nikah Masterclass or some other class together, so both of you learn about the pros and cons of getting a prenuptial agreement.

As soon as you talk about mahr, that's when you should start talking about a prenuptial agreement.
